Macclesfield General Hospital NHS Trust

East Cheshire NHS Trust is the main provider of acute health services for the people of eastern Cheshire, which has a population of 188,000. The Trust’s main hospital is Macclesfield District General Hospital (DGH), which has 365 inpatient beds. Macclesfield DGH is a modern, purpose built hospital, and was opened in the 1980s.

Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham

The Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham was one of the first nucleus hospitals to be built in the late 1960’s. The original building had around 15,000 locks or ironmongery sets.

Doncaster Education City

Developed to offer higher and further education opportunities to the 300,000 people of the local community, Doncaster Education City was a project that included 558 doors on 5 floors in 3 buildings. With 30,000 students and 1200 staff members holding a card, the number of entries and exits that needed to be monitored are vast.

Royal Blackburn Hospital

Hospital services in Blackburn were previously spread over two sites, requiring 16,000 ambulance transfers between them per year. By refurbishing the old Queens Park hospital and adding a new purpose-built extension, it was possible to bring all patient care under one roof and provide a much more efficient service. The new Royal Blackburn Hospital provides 668 beds and serves 70,000 A&E attendances per year. It was opened in July 2006.

Chase Terrace Technology College

An arson attack in August 2002 destroyed the main teaching block, of Chase Terrace High School, which reopened in September 2004 as Chase Terrace Technology College. The need to re-build the school’s teaching facilities and the subsequent local demand for evening classes accounted for the change in the facility’s educational status.
