The ASSA ABLOY Group was formed in 1994 when the Swedish security company Securitas and the Finnish group Wärtsilä agreed to combine their respective lock operations Assa and Abloy. ASSA ABLOY AB was first listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange on November 8, 1994.
Since the start the Group has expanded through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions, especially the acquisition of the Yale companies in August 2000. ASSA ABLOY now comprises 150 companies in 40 countries.
In the UK, Assa Abloy Door Solutions draws on the Group’s brands to provide products and services focussed on the needs of our customers. We work with clients in the commercial, education, sports and health sectors as well as for government and high security environments.
