ASSA ABLOY UK is the first in the architectural hardware company to be able to provide accredited testing on a range of both BS and EN rated standards. It means that the company will be able to formally test and approve its own products as well as those of other ASSA ABLOY Group companies and competitors around the globe.

PROFILE 36: The new DP4400 range

When you’re locking up your home or office, you may not pay much heed to the key you use. Good quality security at an affordable price, reliability and not too many problems getting spare keys are really all you need.

But security managers in sensitive situations – such as air force bases, prisons, research laboratories or pharmaceutical stores – have to pay far more attention to their keys. The risk is greater, the potential threats are far more dangerous:

  • Physical violence: drilling , wrenching, hammering.
  • Lockpicking or key bumping.
  • Compromised key security, unauthorised duplicate keys in circulation.

DP4400 from ASSA ABLOY Door Solutions

The new DP4400 range from ASSA ABLOY Door Solutions is the highest security mechanical cylinder we have ever launched. It builds on the expertise in the market we have gained ever since the original launch of Twin 6000 back in 1980, incorporating all the lessons we have learned since then. ASSA patented cylinders are used in some of the world’s most sensitive high security installations, and DP4400 continues this proud tradition.

Features include:

  • Keys are fully protected by new international patents against unauthorised duplication.
  • Billions of usable differs on each key profile, and every key can be unique worldwide.
  • Case-hardened drill-resistant inserts.
  • Sidebar with force-controlled sidecode function and false gate positions for maximum resistance to surreptitious attack.
  • May be master-keyed with ASSA CLIQ electronic cylinders or ASSA DP2400 lower-cost medium security cylinders in the same system.

DP cylinders are in use in the following applications:

  • Plutonium processing plant, UK
  • Mental Health trusts: West London and Hereford
  • Scottish Police College
  • Universities: Herriott-Watt, St Andrew’s and ICL
  • …and more.
